On Thursday June 16^th, Altus visited our on-site soccer dome for a tournament of epic proportions. Eight teams, consisting of players of a wide variety of skill level and fitness level, competed on both fields. Skill was distributed evenly among teams, which made this tournament both enjoyable to watch and exciting to play in. Games consisted of two twelve minute halves of pure intensity, teamwork and adrenaline. With each team striving for victory it was almost impossible to tell who would come out the champion.

The consolation round was intense, as the Blue Team fought back during the second half to tie the score. In the dying minutes of the game, they were caught illegally passing back to the goalie, which awarded an indirect free kick to Team Red that they capitalized on and hung on for victory.

The championship round featured great competitive spirit, but again ended in a tie game. In the penalty shoot-out, there were a number of fantastic goals scored as well as saves made as the White Team ended in victorious celebration. Congratulations to all of Altus’s highly spirited and energetic team! We look forward to seeing them again soon!
